Hong Kong has some of the most diverse landscapes I’ve found anywhere in the world. Every time I go, if I have any spare time I try to explore, and always find somewhere totally unique! Shek O is down at the south of Hong Kong Island, and had long been on my list to check out– finally on this, my sixth (!) trip for Hong Kong family sessions, I made it down there! What a spot.
I’ve photographed this wonderful family before, but because of travel restrictions I hadn’t been to HK for three years, and so had not yet met their new addition– little brother! We were all so sad that dad couldn’t be there for the session, as he had to be overseas during my HK dates– but he wanted us to go ahead with the session anyway, to capture some special motherhood and sibling portraits.
We shot at a few different spots, including the rocky area around Lover’s Bridge (the actual bridge doesn’t appear in the photos –as it is modern and bright blue!– but I’m standing on the bridge to capture one of the scenic landscape shots below), a bit on the eclectic streets of Shek O village, and ending at the main beach. Below are a handful of my favourite frames.
