This was such a special session, photographed in late summer in Vancouver. Emmy was in her last months of pregnancy, and it felt so meaningful to capture this bond: a memory of her firstborn’s days as an only child. We met in the evening at the beach, and truthfully the light was a bit odd that day– not overcast, but sort of red and hazy. We wandered through the meadow of late summer grass, and explored the nearly empty beach, looking for shells and happening upon this magical driftwood hut. It was one of those sessions that just feels effortless.

about the session: garry point park
Garry Point Park is a park in Richmond, just outside of Vancouver, British Columbia, and close to the quaint seaside town of Steveston. It is such a perfect location, with a mix of lovely trails, sprawling field, and gorgeous beach. I love photographing Vancouver families in locations that have such a mix of nature to explore, and there is no shortage of parks with varying backdrops like this one in Greater Vancouver– we are so, so lucky.
