We weren’t sure if the rain would hold off, but my friend Michele was in town just for the day, so we couldn’t reschedule! It did hold off riiiight until the end. :) Every year I make it a priority to have my own family photographed; sometimes in the Okanagan, and sometimes closer to home in Vancouver, and I create a yearly album, just like I do for my clients. Adam isn’t a huge fan of having photos taken, but he is always such a trooper. As our kids grow, these photographs become more and more precious to us. Thanks so much to Michele of White Linen Photographers (based in the Okanagan), who photographs us often. x

about the session: being in front of the camera
I find it so helpful to be in front of the camera myself once a year with Adam and our kids– it reminds me about the stress of choosing outfits, the bustle of getting ready and out the door, trying to make sure the little one naps well that day…. the list goes on! When I meet my families at sessions, I truly understand all the effort it takes to get there. Having family photos of my own also reminds me of how precious and important they are, so that I’m always pushing to photograph families in an ever more meaningful way.
