Every year, usually while we’re on vacation in Canada’s Okanagan, we have our own family portraits taken. It’s often assumed that I photograph my own children all the time– but it’s really not true! Our three are little and time is scarce, and I find less and less time to professionally photograph my kids, preferring to simply document our everyday with my iphone. But once a year, we book a professional session so that I can be in photos with them too.
This time was particularly interesting because our littlest, Clara, was about 16 months at the time, and after she discovered how interesting the sandy ground was at our location, she refused to do anything but play in the dirt! But, as always when children are involved, you have to roll with the punches and so we got right down in the dirt with her. I’m so grateful to have these beautiful portraits of us all together.
A massive thank you to my friend, the extremely talented and patient Michele Dyson for photographing us.
