– Vancouver Family Photographer: Richmond, British Columbia –

The perfect summer’s evening for a family photo session in Vancouver, Canada! This session involved a few of my favourite things: blackberry picking (If you have not yet tasted the most perfectly ripe –not too sweet, not too sour– blackberry of the Pacific Northwest, you are in for a treat!) and two very busy little boys. I know that the fear of children ‘not following direction’ is a major worry for parents (these boys’ mum told me that she honestly only expected, and would be quite happy with just a handful of ‘good’ ones!), but I truly love the challenge.

Toddlers and young children are so, so special, and they often bring an energy and movement to a session that wouldn’t have been there otherwise, simply by doing their own thing and ‘not following direction’. ;)

about the session: terra nova

These family photographs were taken in early August, at Terra Nova Park in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. This park is the perfect place for small and busy children– lots of room to roam, never very crowded, no dogs, no bikes, and the occasional airplane spotting due to it’s proximity to YVR.
