I’ve been photographing this family for a long time, since both girls were born! It’s always so special to see them come back again and again.

This summer we took a walk through this beautiful oceanside park near Vancouver, ending on the beach amongst the driftwood as the sun slowly went down. We got a little chilly at the end with the ocean breeze coming in, and you can see them huddling together for warmth in the later portraits!

It’s catching the little details like this: cuddles for warmth, impromptu driftwood play-fighting, and full-bellied laughter, that I love the most.

about the session: sunset sessions

This Vancouver family photography session took place in late July, beginning at 7:30pm; quite close to sunset! At an open location like the beach seen here, an evening session is the best way to get that beautiful soft glow on a sunny day.
